In 1995, Dr. Gordon Robson began the prison ministry at Riverview Baptist Church. This ministry is active in the Coyote Ridge Corrections Center in Connell, WA, and the Two Rivers Correctional Institution at Umatilla, OR. Coyote Ridge meets every Friday night and on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. Two Rivers meets every Wednesday. Several volunteers from Riverview Baptist are involved in these services.

The main goal of the prison ministry is to see people come saved. Well over one hundred souls are saved each year in the prisons with over one third following the Lord in baptism. Soul winning happens on both a group level and one on one.

The services follow a pattern of a mini church service with spirit filled singing, fiery, Biblical preaching, discipleship, and prayer. Periodically, special singing groups from Riverview attend the services to provide a special touch to the music program.

Many inmates send correspondence back to the ministry to report on personal growth and achievement after they have been released, and a few have attended and graduated from RBBI. This ministry is an excellent opportunity to get involved in soul winning efforts at Riverview Baptist. For more information, contact Dr. Robson.
