Prison & Jail Ministry
The Prison Ministry at Walla Walla began over twelve years ago when Brad Ohler and Paul Robinson took the Reformers Unanimous Addictions program into the BAR Units at Walla Walla State Penitentiary. Each Saturday, men from our church carry the Gospel of Freedom from the bonds of addiction to the men there at WSP. Both Franklin County and Benton County Jails have allowed us access to the inmates through the RU Ministry. This ministry has expanded to include Two Rivers Correctional Institution in Umatilla, OR, and to Coyote Ridge Corrections Center in Connell. Literally thousands have heard the Word preached with hundreds coming to know Christ as their personal Savior. We appreciate so very much all of the people who are involved in this vital ministry! Their labor is surely not in vain! We thank them so much for their faithfulness each week to reach the incarcerated in our area. There is always a need for more workers to help in this ministry. One two-hour training session and an application completion is all that is needed to go in and see what we do. Services last 1 1/2 hours and are very uplifting to the volunteer. Prisoners are often forgotten by family and friends. What an impact it makes for complete strangers to remember them and minister to them. We praise God for the opportunity to represent Jesus Christ and the saving, reclaiming power of the Gospel!
