*Nurseries* – For every church service we provide child care from birth to toddler. We have many caring workers who provide their services so that the parents can enjoy the church service with the comfort of knowing their babies are being well taken care of. Pagers are provided for the babies and crawlers nurseries in the event a parent is needed. The nurseries are divided into three rooms;
BABIES – birth to crawling
CRAWLERS – crawling to walking
TODDLERS – Walking to 3 years of age.
*Sunday School* – Sunday morning we have a class for every age starting with a class for two and three year olds to a class for teenagers. The adults meet in the Main Auditorium for church.
*Patch Club* – Patch the Pirate Club is a newer ministry at Riverview Baptist Church which provides primary and junior aged children with fun lessons on how to grow spiritually while developing musical skills as well.
Each month a new character trait is emphasized through songs, Bible lessons and daily devotions. These culminate in a once a month performance of a song and short play in the Sunday evening service at Riverview Baptist.
Children can earn awards for memorizing Scripture, faithfully doing devotions, attending Patch Club meetings, and wearing their uniforms. We meet from 7:30-8:30 every Wednesday evening throughout the school year.
*Junior Camp* –
*After School Bible Club* – In the spring of 2007, Riverview Baptist Church began having after school Bible clubs in local elementary schools. This came through contact with Child Evangelism Fellowship, an international ministry that is dedicated to getting children and their families saved and into a local church.
Every week in six public elementary schools Riverview Baptist Church holds an after school Bible Club. These clubs are a free after school program to give children an opportunity to hear the good news about Christ and to learn how to live the Christian life.
In the 2009-2010 school year, we saw 606 children enrolled in the clubs with 387 professing faith in Jesus Christ. We are currently in Virgie Robinson, James McGee, Maya Angelou, Robert Frost, Whittier, and Mark Twain Elementary Schools. To date there have been 2154 students enrolled in after school Bible clubs with 1375 professing belief in Jesus Christ.
Opportunities to serve in to serve in this ministry abound as well as openings for enrollment in your child’s elementary school. For more info, contact Pastor Mike.
